Funan Weng has decades-long history since the 1950s at Hock Lam Street to Capital Cinema, Funan Centre, Ghim Moh Market and eventually located at Maxwell Chambers.

This place was introduced by “Sera”. I was craving for some noodles and she said there’s a pretty good HorFun around the corner at Maxwell Chambers.
I’m pretty sure i had this before at Ghim Moh Market. Little did i expect that that their Street Hawker Fare – Horfun had went upmarket and shifted to a Shop at Maxwell Chambers. (Maxwell chambers, just beside Red Dot Museum, is strategic located near Tanjong Pagar MRT).
We had their Speciality -
Ipoh Horfun with Prawns and Shredded Chicken ($5.80).
I’m not a huge big fan of Horfun but i know that if i managed to slurp finish every single bit of a plate of Hor Fun, there must be something different about it.
I have to give credits to their Shredded chicken breast meat. I usually opt for Thigh meat and avoid the breast meat at all cost but i was surprised that their shredded chicken breast meat was tender and juicy. It’s totally different from the usual tough breast meat. The shredded chicken definitely complements their silky Hor Fun. Also, the sauce wasn’t too sticky or gelard as well. As a whole, it’s a good decent plate that i enjoyed.
Funan Weng also serves a variety of other dishes – Beef Brisket Noodles, Gourmet Dumplings, Char Siew and Wanton Ipoh Hor fun.
Air Conditioned place, decent good lunch fare, NO GST and Service Charge! It’s going into our list of lunch places around our work place.
