Tajimaya Yakiniku 「但馬や、焼肉」
Yakiniku

Wagyu Karubi Beef for Lunch? How sinful.
We had that in Tajimaya Yakiniku.
Yakiniku 焼肉 , meant “grilled meat” or some may called it “BBQ”. Likewise, in Tajimaya Yakiniku, you can Do-It-Yourself. It’s great fun but keep a watch over it, if not, the meat will just be “chaotah” – burnt in other words. :D

I heard from my Japanese friend that Tajimaya is a place in Japan, famous for Tajima Beef. Tajima Cattle belongs to one of the black Wagyu cattle in Japan, famous for Matsuzaka and Kobe Beef.
Are the Wagyu Karubi from Tajimaya Yakiniku really from Tajima? If you have the answer, let me know. :)
Our Wagyu Karubi Set Lunch – $25.90

Wagyu Karubi (6 Pieces) – Check out the marbling. It’s not too bad.

Japanese Salad – Lettuce, Cabbage, Cherry tomatoes tossed with Japanese Sesame Sauce

Potato Croquette (Replaced by Kimchi), Miso Soup and Rice
A pity that our dining experience was slightly put off by the service staff. The staff informed us that their Potato croquette ran out and they will replace that with Kimchi. We were pretty disappointed and asked her if we could have something else in place of that? She gave a firm “No”, and she went on mumbling something about the price of the potato croquette being cheap and she could only replace that with Kimchi.
After “questioning” the staff for few minutes, she reluctantly told ua that the potato croquette ran out because their supplier stopped the supply. What? And why is it still on the Set Lunch menu.
Seriously, this wasn’t the service i was expecting from here. Eventually, she said she would check with her kitchen again and offered us ice cream instead.

By then, we were pretty put off by the her and contemplated leaving the restaurant but since our orders came, we decided to give the food a chance.
I’m not a big fan of Kimchi but oh well, my friend say the taste was good.

Service aside, i love Yakiniku.I love to see the sizzling grill!
It’s good fun to char-grill the food by yourself. But don’t grill it too long.

I’m not a beef connoisseur but i could still distinguish a decent good yakiniku. I’m sure the boy will like this as well. It’s definitely not as good as the wagyu beef i had at japan but definitely decent good quality beef.

On the whole, i would say it’s a good but pricey lunch set. It’s definitely not something we could have it daily but if you work around this area, and if your boss decided to give you a lunch treat, go ahead and feast.
After checking through the receipt, i just realized that our set lunch includes complimentary green tea which wasn’t served to us at all. The staff pales in comparison to the other famous G-Yakiniku. I totally concur with the mediocre service.
Quality Good Food but with Mediocre Service. Will you still go ahead?
I probably will.
I hope my next dining experience with them will be much better. :)

It is great to have charcoal fire for grilling. The foods look intriguing from your shots, yet bad services can spoil the whole meal.
The beef looks good! But the service really sounds bad.
Now it’s time to seek a treat from the boss! Hohoho~
>TasteHongKong : Heya! Yeah it’s good but sinful!
yeah, bad services can really spoil my mood and my whole appetite.
>sHi > Ask you boss :p
I’ve been there once earlier this year and decided that I’d rather let the chef cook the fish for me. Lazy me haha.
hehe! i think its pretty hard to grill the fish! so its alright!
I love the colours of your photos here! look very lomo-ish.
Heya! Thanks for popping by!
